Audrey Matott reports in The Greenville Pioneer that Greenville is getting a Catskill graduate for high school principal this year. Amanda Greene started Aug. 14. She graduated from Catskill in 1998, then taught school on Long Island. In 2011 she moved back to the Hudson Valley as assistant principal at Red Hook's middle school, and a year later she took the same role at Red Hook's high school. "I am proud and impressed by Greenville because to me it is a beacon in Greene County," she said. "There is an IB [International Baccalaureate] program here, and as far as I know, outside of Red Hook and Albany High School, there really isn't another one until you get to Binghamton. So I think there is a very progressive thinking group of administrators and community members here."
