Emilia Teasdale reports for The Columbia Paper that in Chatham, Philmont, and Valatie villages there are uncontested elections on Sept. 15. Melony Spock and first-time candidate Jodie Russell are running for two open seats in Chatham. In Philmont and Valatie, incumbent board members are running unopposed for the open seats. Voting is noon to 9 p.m. at the Philmont Village Hall, 124 Main Street; in Valatie at the Martin H. Glynn Municipal Building, 3211 Church Street; and in Chatham at the Morris Memorial, 77 Main Street. Masks are required in Chatham, as the County Board of Elections is in charge of the voting.
