Donald Drumpf Theatre Vol. 193 Up and Down (Audio)
Sep 24, 2020
Produced by Tom Roe.
Volume 193 Up and Down. This week our hero is passing on 200,000 COVID-19 deaths.
Thanks this week for the songs from The Sex Pistols ("Anarchy in the U.K."), Cookie Monster and another Monster ("Up and Down"), Janelle Monae ("Turntables"), Mr. Heat Miser ("Heat Miser"), Tom Roe ("Unscrupulous Politicians"), and Golden Earring ("Twilight Zone"). Clips and excerpts from Rod Serling; Rudy Giuliani; Cartman; Richard Nixon; Trevor Noah; Stephen Colbert; Bob Woodward; Robert Redfield; Nicolle Wallace; "The Daily Show;" "Our Cartoon President;" Seth Meyers; and Bill Barr. An original radio theatre show each week, with most sounds culled from the previous week, about a fictional, theatrical presidency. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. Currently airing on 30 or 40 stations around the world, the network has ordered another five months of episodes. Anyone who would like to work on a production, or have their work air in this timeslot, should contact info@wgxc.org.
