The Daily Freeman reports that Kingston Point Beach was closed again Aug. 13 due to “slightly elevated bacteria levels” by the Ulster County Department of Health. After a series of heavy rains the Hudson River beach was closed for a week in July due to poor water quality issues. Dirty runoff water after rains generally makes many swimming areas toxic these days, and in July all Hudson River beaches were closed to the public at one point.
