The owners of the Chatham Bookstore, Nicole Furnee and Thomas Chulak, have been meeting with other locals interested in starting the Art School of Columbia County. The group has established a partnership with the Columbia County Council on the Arts and are filing paperwork to form a not-for profit organization. They will hold an community meeting at 2 p.m., Sun., April 14, at the Old Schoolhouse (formerly Red Maple Books), in Harlemville, NY, to discuss the plan. They hope to a pilot summer art program beginning in June.
