Price Chopper announces Listeria-related fudge bar recall
Apr 12, 2019 12:45 pm
The Times Union is reporting Price Chopper and Market 32 Supermarkets are issuing a voluntary manufacturer recall on 30-ounce PICS fudge bars. The products are being recalled because of positive test results for Listeria in the production environment. The manufacturer maintains three facilities, including a 25,000-square-foot facility in Gloversville. It is unclear which facility tested positive for Listeria, a bacteria found in soil and water and some animals, including poultry and cattle. Listeriosis, an infection caused by Listeria, can pose major risks for certain populations. Customers who have an affected product may return it to their local Price Chopper or Market 32 for a full refund. Information is available at fieldbrookfoods [dot] com or 800-333-0805.
