Terrell Owens to participate in local benefit
Former NFL wide receiver and six-time Pro Bowler Terrell Owens will participate in Rashad Barksdale's Run This Town Celebrity Basketball Game, Mar. 10 at Hudson High School. Barksdale made the announcement Wed., Feb. 23, during the WGXC Afternoon Show hosted by Vern Cross, Rainer Blue and Kamal Johnson, with sportwriter Tim Martin. PLAY (:49). The annual event benefits Barksdale's Its OK to Dream Foundation, a charity that gives back to the city of Hudson with funds going to youth organizations and college educations. Owens played college football and basketball at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and was selected in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He retired from football in 2012. Barksdale's celebrity game will also include Geno Smith, Dominique Rodgers Cromartie, Dion Lewis, Josh Johnson, Mike Adams, Maurice Leggett, Tank Daniels, Michael Adams and Mani Love.
