Mid-Hudson News reports that the Dutchess County Legislature unanimously voted for a ten percent county property tax exemption for volunteer firefighters and ambulance service workers on Feb. 14. Greene and Rensselaer counties have also passed similar measures, in order to lure first responders to work there. New York State recently allowed counties to grant such tax exemptions.
