Governor's message delivered at Cairo Public Library

W.T. Eckert reports in The Daily Mail New York State Office of General Services Commissioner RoAnn Destito traveled to Cairo’s Public Library Wed., Feb. 27, bringing Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's State of the State and budget messages to Greene County. Key elements in presentation included attracting good jobs and economic growth, creating a world-class education system, establishing fiscal integrity and discipline, and restoring New York as the progressive capital of the nation. Destito also walked through the need to increase upstate growth, which has seen a five percent increase in 10 years, compared to New York City’s 16 percent and a statewide increase of 11 percent. County Legislator Harry Lennon expressed appreciation to the governor and his staff for coming to Greene County. Majority Leader Kevin Lewis said he found the presentation to be a good overview.
