Video slots coming to Newburgh Mall
MidHudson News is reporting the video gaming operation originally planned for the Harriman area of Orange County, will now be located at the former Bon-Ton department store space at the Newburgh Mall on Union Avenue in the town of Newburgh. State Senator James Skoufis has been heavily involved in the negotiations with Resorts World Catskills that will allow the company to operate the electronic gaming operation as a supplement to its Kiamesha Lake Las Vegas style casino in Sullivan County. Skoufis said before the mall location can open, it must go through all of the appropriate local approvals. He said aside from the construction jobs, the gaming operation will provide hundreds of permanent jobs for local residents including for those living in the city of Newburgh, which has a high unemployment rate. Skoufis said he expects the gaming operation to attract high-end dining venues and other business opportunities to the mall. Read the full story at MidHudsonNews [dot] com.
