Hudson mosque vandalized
Sep 08, 2010 7:41 pm
Albany TV station CBS6 is reporting the Hudson Islamic Center mosque was vandalized sometime between last night at 11 p.m. and today at noon. Hudson Common Council president Don Moore told CBS6 "an ethnic slur against Arabs was written on the front of the mosque at 3rd and Columbia St." The Register-Star is also now reporting that the grafitti said, "F--k Sand N-----s.” The Register-Star's Andrew Amelinckx and Francesca Olsen tracked down Second Ward Alderman Abdus Miah, a Muslim, and the first member of Hudson’s Bangladeshi community elected to office in the city: "[Miah] said he was troubled by the graffiti. According to Miah, before this incident there had never been any problems, even after 9-11. 'But now ...' he said, his voice trailing off."
