Kenneth C. Crowe II is reporting for the Times Union the Rensselaer Environmental Coalition announced this week, it has joined with BluePrint Geneva to create an online reporting system for complaints about issues related to the Dunn Construction and Demolition Debris Landfill. The online reporting system is called ItStinks! More than a dozen complaints were registered as of mid-day June 21, a check of the site at itstinks [dot] org showed. The website allows a person to make a complaint about foul odors and other issues, which will then be forwarded by email to elected officials and the state Department of Environmental Conservation. Nearby residents in Rensselaer and East Greenbush have protested foul odors, blowing dust, noise, pollution and congestion from landfill truck traffic since the landfill opened in 2015.
