The New York State Assembly passed A.7555 141-0 on March 15, a bill to exempt feminine hygiene products from sales taxes. Akum Norder, a writer at The Albany Times-Union writes that, "It’s expected to pass in the Senate as well." Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie said, "New York will join other states that have acknowledged the inequity of taxing these essential health items and alleviate this cost burden for thousands of women here in our state."
