Hoosick Falls reaches agreement for lost sewer and water revenues

Jun 26, 2018 6:45 am
Amanda Fries is reporting for the Times Union Saint-Gobain Performance Plastic and Honeywell International have agreed to pay Hoosick Falls nearly $200,000 for lost sewer and water revenues resulting from the PFOA contamination of its water supply. The Hoosick Falls Village Board June 25, unanimously approved an agreement for the companies to pay for the lost revenues from June 1, 2015 through May 31, 2018. This is the second such agreement the village has struck with the two companies this year. "We had our first settlement back in February where they reimbursed us for engineering and other costs," village Mayor Rob Allen said. "This will get us back to where we should have been with water and sewer revenue, and the process of negotiations will continue." Allen said the two agreed upon payments show the companies are willing to work and negotiate with the village. Neither of the agreements prevent the village from bringing additional pollution-related claims against the companies. Read the full story in the Times Union.
