LDC to open retail incubator space in Catskill village
Nov 20, 2012 12:10 am
Kyle Adams reports in The Daily Mail the Local Development Corporation for the Village of Catskill is opening a revolving retail space for start-ups on Main Street. The space will serve as a proving ground for artisans and retailers interested in doing business in the village. Six vendors will be invited to share the space from Dec. 1 through March 1. The LDC board of directors recently approved the plan that includes funds for insurance, utilities, marketing and other expenses. Participants will be asked to pay a reduced rent for the three-month period. If the experiment proves successful for the vendors, the LDC hopes they will decide to remain in that space or elsewhere on Main St. indefinitely. Applications require a business plan, and are due Nov. 25. Interested vendors are encouraged to contact Tina Gagliardy, owner of Mahalo at 397 Main St. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
