Sugar Shack Jukebox: Tambo & Clukes, Live Cuts (Audio)
Aug 29, 2014
Hosted by Jared Widjeskog.
Interspersed throughout the program, this edition of the SSJ features "Live Cuts" by the long dormant yet explosive Tambo & Clukes. Here is the trio at their best: Reunited and well rehearsed, comfortable and clean. Note the precocious composition and sophisticated arrangement from the trio; barely 20 years old. From the elaborate instrumental interplay to their whimsical thematics, Tambo & Clukes are contemporary classical- and jazz-inspired experimentalists masquerading as a pop/rock trio. While the guitar, bass, and drums comprise no more than a rhythm section, the music itself seems to accompany a prodigious series of circus acts. Here digitally mixed for the first time is the musical creation of Paul Widjeskog, Adam Rothenberg, and Nicholas Chiaro, recorded live in Valatie, New York at the turn of the 21st century. Hosted by Jared Widjeskog.
