Judge certifies Amedore as 46th SD winner

Jimmy Vielkind reports in the Times Union Acting Montgomery County Supreme Court Justice Guy Tomlinson has certified Republican George Amedore as the winner in the 46th State Senate District. According to Tomlinson's ruling Wed., Dec. 19, Amedore bested Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk (KAT-chik) by 37 votes. Amedore declared victory election night, and again on Monday. The judge determined that more than half of the absentee and affidavit ballots set aside for review were not legally valid. Democrats are appealing those determinations, and said Tkaczyk would be declared the winner if more votes are counted. Read the full story in the Times Union.
