Kyle Adams writes in The Daily Mail nearly 20 years of environmental remediation work may soon be coming to an end at the former Becker Electronics Manufacturing site in East Durham. The final stage of remediation at the Superfund site will likely be finished by early April. The site was identified after a significant amount of hazardous chemicals from the former electronics plant were found to have compromised the groundwater at the site, along with several private drinking water wells nearby. The site is currently approved for restricted use, and serves as a warehouse for Tip Top Furniture. The property is now owned by Tip Top's owner, Kenneth Dudley, through the Michael J. Quill Irish Cultural and Sports Centre. Read the full story in The Daily Mail.
