Route 9G repaving project underway, expect delays

Bill Williams is reporting for WCTW-FM the New York State Department of Transportation crews began ripping up the old blacktop on Route 9G early October 1. Drivers traveling between County Route 8, or Main Street, in Germantown and the Columbia County side of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge should expect delays. In the spring, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced an $850,000 grant for the resurfacing of the route through the PAVE NY program. The program is currently supporting 91 paving projects and the renewal of approximately 1,000 lane miles of pavement statewide, including at least one project in every county and the City of New York, according to a press release.
