Ice is not thick enough for fishing

The Daily Freeman reports that the state Department of Environmental Conservation is warning anglers they need at least four solid inches of ice for any ice fishing. After a very cold Thanksgiving weekend, temperatures have teetered back and forth below and above freezing. But perhaps the ice will be thicker in time for the next Open for Fishing and Hunting initiative, Feb. 16-17, when the requirement for a fishing license is waived.
