Reid Wilson at The Hill reports that the city of Seattle filed suit March 29 against President Donald Trump's executive order that would deny funding to so-called sanctuary cities that refuse to comply with federal immigration officials. The suit asks a judge to declare Trump’s order an unconstitutional violation of the Tenth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution by attempting to force the city to enforce federal immigration law. Hudson passed a similar sanctuary city resolution in March, and Kingston, Newburgh, and New Paltz have passed similar resolutions.
