Amanda Fries reports in the Albany Times Union that the latest hiking accident on the mountaintop came Aug. 31 in Hunter, with a West Point cadet falling off a rock ledge to his death at Fawn’s Leap. The victim’s name was initially withheld by the Department of Defense. The victim was attending the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School in West Point.
