Republicans take over Knox in new year
Dec 20, 2017 3:01 pm
H. Rose Schneider in The Altamont Enterprise outlines some of the changes that will or might take place in the Albany County of Knox in the new year. The election in November switched the board from a Democratic to a Republican majority for the first time in years. Town board members, a town justice, the town attorney, the town clerk, and a highway employee are all probably changing Jan. 1. The planning board might get a new head, or new members, too, according to Schneider's reporting. Town Supervisor Vasilios Lefkaditis was a Democrat, but has won twice without his party's backing. “I’m very excited to work with the new board, the new clerk, the new justice … ,” Lefkaditis told The Enterprise on Nov. 7. “I think you’ll have more open-minded board members and that’s what we need.”
