Ariel Zangla is reporting in the Daily Freeman Greene County lawmakers agreed to apply for three state grants to fund the county's Microenterprise Assistance Program, pay for an infrastructure study and help cover the cost of an expansion at the Zoom Flume Water Park. The county Legislature voted early this week to authorize the submission of three applications to the state Office of Community Renewal for community development block grant funding. The Microenterprise Assistance Program is expected to fund eight microenterprise projects in the 2014 round. The infrastructure study would catalogue, map and document current infrastructure capacities for the water and sewer districts in the county. The funding sought for the Zoom Flume Water Park would go toward expanding the water park’s front entrance and creating a new gift shop, office space and ticketing center. The county is seeking a total of $400,000 for the three projects. Read the full story in the Daily Freeman.
