State police shoot New Lebanon woman

Roger Hannigan Gilson reports in the Times Union that a state trooper shot a woman in the abdomen with a shotgun July 15 in New Lebanon. Police say she threatened suicide and then pointed a firearm at troopers. The 40-year-old woman was not identified, and was taken to Albany Medical Center. Trooper Nathaniel Chernewsky fired the shotgun at the woman at her home on Route 22 in eastern Columbia County, and was accompanied by Trooper Erica Rodriguez.
