The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a Heat Advisory from noon through 9 p.m., Mon., Aug. 6, and Tue, Aug. 7, for the WGXC listening area. Heat index values from the middle 90s to approximately 100 are expected, due to temperatures in the upper 80s to middle 90s, and dewpoints in the middle 60s to middle 70s. The combination of heat and high humidity may cause heat stress or other heat-related illnesses particularly to those most vulnerable. Listeners are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors.
