Nassau board votes to convert to all renewable energy by 2020

Scott Waldman at Politico New York reports that the town of Nassau in Rensselaer County voted to get 100 percent of its power from renewables by 2020. Six town buildings will go off-the-grid according to the plan. “It’s not the be-all to end-all for what we should be doing as a state and a nation, but it’s a good first step,” Nassau supervisor Dave Fleming said. Nassau will use solar, and can also use methane from its landfill and possisbly wind power. Read the full story in Politico New York.
