Jul 26, 2018 1:37 pm
Columbia-Greene Media report that Columbia County just launched a youth bus for the summer, between Philmont and Hudson. The bus, for youth in Kindergarten through 12th grade, is free and leaves from Philmont at 8:25 a.m. with stops in Claverack, Stottville, Greenport, and Hudson. At 3:15 p.m., the bus leaves Hudson and travels back to Philmont. The City of Hudson’s Oakdale Lake, Mental Health Association’s Youth Clubhouse, Hudson Area Library, and Kite’s Nest are all programs that may benefit from the bus. “Summer youth programs have a positive impact,” says Robert Gibson, Commissioner of Columbia County Department of Social Services. “Getting young people to these programs is an important preventative measure, steering people towards positive outcomes and reducing the risk of required rehabilitative services later.” Read the full story at HudsonValley360.com.
