WNYT reports that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says Lyme Disease isn't the only reason to avoid tick bites. Babesiosis is another tick-borne disease that can be fatal in rare cases, and is becoming more prevalent in the Northeast. The symptoms of babesiosis include fever, chills, sweats, headaches, body aches, nausea, fatigue, or muscle and joint pain and there is a fatality rate of around 1 to 2 percent.
