Brownson appointed to Clermont Board

Katie Kocijanski is reporting in the Register Star Dawn Brownson was appointed to the Clermont Town Board, Mon., Dec. 1. Brownson was one of two candidates considered for the seat formerly held by Edward Kahle. She will serve the remaining year of Kahle's term, through Dec. 31, 2015. Kahle resigned from the board in October. Brownson, a Democrat, ran for a seat on the board in the 2013 elections. She currently serves as town historian. Brownson is a native of Brunswick, Rensselaer Co., attended Catholic Central High School in Troy and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Siena College. She is the former chief financial officer at Kingston Hospital. Brownson currently works part-time as an accountant for the Columbia County Historical Society.
