Unnamed brewery to move into former train station in Hudson

Oct 14, 2019 11:18 pm
Amanda Purcell reports for Columbia-Greene Media that The Galvan Foundation announced Oct. 11 that an unnamed brewery will move into their building at 708 State St. in Hudson that formerly was a train station. The unnamed brewery will open next spring, after the building is fixed up first, they say. “The depot has a long history of bringing people together and supporting the local economy,” said Dan Kent, Galvan’s vice president of initiatives. “The tall ceilings are perfect for fitting large brewing tanks.” The brewery includes plans for a tasting room and event space with live music. Kent says there will be eight employees at the unnamed business, but does not say if those jobs are new, or shifting from where the brewery they are bringing in currently operates. The 3,700-square-foot building was a stop on the Hudson and Berkshire Railroad, which started moving travelers from Hudson to West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, in September 1838, and closed in 1959.
