Ulster County received 1,900 vaccine doses this week

Paul Kirby reports for the Daily Freeman that Ulster County received 1,900 doses of COVID-19 vaccine this week Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan said Feb. 2. That's slightly better than the 1,500 doses Ulster County received last week, or the 1,300 they got the the week before that, and 1,200 officials received the week before that. “We are seeing more [doses], but it is not near enough,” Ryan said. Currently, between 60,000 and 70,000 residents in the county are eligible to receive the vaccine. Ulster County counted 28 new positive tests for coronavirus Feb. 2. Dutchess County, across the Hudson River, reported 173 new cases Feb. 2, and two more deaths. Columbia County reported 25 new coronavirus cases and three more deaths on Feb. 2, while Greene County announced six new cases. Rensselaer County had 41 new cases, and Albany County added 99 new cases and four more deaths.
