Brian Tumulty, of the Poughkeepsie Journal's Washington bureau, has an in-depth profile of Congressman Chris Gibson and the challenges he faces as he tries to retain his seat in the U. S. House in a newly redrawn 19th district. The nonpartisan Cook Political Report has noted the reconfigured district could go either way in November, with many communities currently represented by retiring Democratic Congressman Maurice Hinchey. One notable take-away from the piece: Representative Gibson has no plans to fulfill more than 4 terms, believing that serving in Congress should not be a lifelong endeavor.
