Man accused of threatening to shoot up Columbia Co. DSS
Bill Williams is reporting for Columbia-Greene Media a Rensselaer County man was taken into custody and now faces charges after he allegedly threatened to shoot up the Columbia County Department of Social Services building on Railroad Avenue in Hudson on December 30, Lt. John Rivero of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said this week. Jordan Couse, 19, of Castleton, was charged with aggravated harassment in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor. Couse is alleged to have made the threat by phone in a call to a DSS employee. Police declined to say how the incident started. Couse was picked up at his home in Castleton by Schodack police and then turned over to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office for processing, Rivero said. Couse was arraigned in Hudson City Court before Judge Brian Hermann and then released on his own recognizance that same day. He is scheduled to appear in court again Thu., Jan. 21, Rivero said.
