IS:IS, a composition performed live, uses portions of the Martian Time Slip, a novel by Philip K Dick and a meditation of the possible simultaneity of time and perception. In this Impossible Duet with P.K.D., Lyon (performing as mudboy) seeks to understand the fine line which separates our perception of sound as speech and sound as music. Using precise textural and tempo manipulations, as well as hypnotic patterning and vocal manipulations IS:IS brings to the forefront the important relationships between audio narratives, trance induction and other sound based guided experiences.
