TRANSMISSION ART ARCHIVE

Gregory Kramer

Taking inspiration from his archaeological curiosity of abandoned places, Gregory Kramer searches for ghosts among the ruins and seeks to unearth evidence of forgotten histories through sound. His work uses various sources including field recordings, found materials, electronics, musical instruments and radio transmissions, and he sometimes incorporates projected video to produce immersive environments. He recently performed Vampire State Building, an eight-channel piece composed from lobby recordings of New York City landmark buildings and had work broadcast in a Scottish forest.
