WGXC celebrates the 15 years of free103point9, the non-profit arts group that is WGXC's parent organization. free103point9 began as a microradio station in Brooklyn, New York, a spinoff of 87X, a microradio station in Tampa, Florida. Tune in all day for historic broadcasts of fifteen years of transmission art. Historic recordings from microradio stations and figures such as KIND Radio, Steal This Radio, Radio Free Lutz, Kids Discover Radio, Stephen Dunifer, Petri Dish, and others. Also, transmission artists such as Anna Friz, Tianna Kennedy, Scanner, Gregory Whitehead, and many others will be included. Plus, early performances from experimental artists such as Animal Collective, I-Sound, Daniel Carter, Matthew Shipp, Matt Valentine + Erika Elder, Espers, Thurston Moore, Pauline Oliveros, and many others.
