Singer, guitarist, and songwriter Tom Verlaine, best known as the frontman for the New York City rock band Television, died on January 28, at the age of 73. One of America’s greatest rock guitarists, Verlaine blended the blues with free jazz and Middle Eastern influences to create his inimitable playing style. The broadcast will feature highlights of his solo career from Tom Verlaine (1979), to Flash Light (1987).
