Hosted by Ann Forbes Cooper

The September episode features three interviews investigating the relationship between mortality and creativity. Ann Forbes Cooper memorializes the late Steve Crohn, the man "who could not catch AIDS," whose mysterious immunity to the disease he witnessed from earliest appearances of the disease. Crohn took his own life earlier this month. Debby Mayer, local journalist with "The Columbia Paper," discusses her memoir, "Riptides & Solaces Unforeseen," and the how she has turned the horrors of dealing with loss of her late partner to brain cancer into something healing. And finally, the painter's painter John Lees, who opens a solo exhibit at John Davis Gallery in Hudson, October 12, discusses the ways in which time, mortality and the primacy of paint itself work together in his art. Music is by Sara Barreilles, Pablo Casals playing Johannes Sebastian Bach, and Ben Webster. Produced by guest host Paul Smart.
