WGXC-90.7 FM
From the Transmission Art Archive: "AM fauna FM flora" (2015) by Knut Aufermann
90.7-FM in NY's Upper Hudson Valley and wgxc.org/listen everywhere

Produced by Wave Farm Radio.
Writes Aufermann, "For the first time in 15 years of producing radio feedback I was able to play with AM using the site-specific AM transmitter (Wave Farm Radio 1620-AM) located within Max Goldfarb's Mobile 49 (M49) radio truck on the Wave Farm property grounds. In this loosely trimmed recording of a live session I combined two of my own FM transmitters with the AM one and used two portable radio receivers to close the loop. To my ears AM feedback produced animalistic sounds whereas the FM feedback had rather fauna-like quality, but then I have probably stayed on the Wave Farm long enough for everything, as Anna Friz suggests, to turn into Farm Art."
Tune in for selections from Wave Farm's Transmission Art Archive, a specialized online resource of artists' experiments with the electromagnetic spectrum in form or concept. The resource contains primary materials from early microradio broadcast collaborations among Brooklyn-based artists in the mid-nineties, transmission works created by the hundreds of artists who have participated in Wave Farm projects, broadcasts, and residencies, as well as historical and contemporary projects that comprise the canon of the genre.
