Uncontaminated Sound Special Broadcast: AI Infrastructure, Peace Tech, and the Geopolitics of the Gigawatt Age
In this special broadcast, Rob Lundberg brings together field conversations recorded around the 2026 AI Expo in Washington, D.C., exploring how artificial intelligence is moving beyond software and into the deeper systems that shape infrastructure, security, diplomacy, energy, and global power.
The program features Dr. Tom Danielson of Savannah River National Laboratory on AI, the Department of Energy, legacy nuclear waste cleanup, robotics, drones, and human-in-the-loop safety systems; Ola from Transcend on peace tech, non-kinetic options, diplomacy, auditability, and the role of AI in preventing and mitigating violent conflict; and Andrew Harris, Deputy Chief Economist at Fathom Consulting, on China, supply chains, critical minerals, semiconductors, energy demand, economic statecraft, and geopolitical risk.
Together, the conversations ask what happens when AI becomes part of the operating layer of modern civilization — from contaminated sites and legacy infrastructure to diplomacy, economic competition, and the material demands of the data center age.
What started as a photography series then video series, "Uncontaminated Sound" is a conversation series for radio that follows comedians, musicians, fine artists, and actors with the primary objective to gain a particular insight into their creative processes which can only be fully unravelled by truly going behind the scenes. With "Uncontaminated Sound," Robert attempts to offer an intimate look into all of the rarely seen or known “little things” that take place during interviews and other similar social and private interactions with artists and performers. These features offer listeners real, raw, and authentic conversations.
Originally from Boston and moved to Brooklyn, Robert Lundberg now finds himself in New York's Hudson Valley. His photographic works have been featured in publications such as The Huffington Post, Paste Magazine, Brokelyn, Vents Magazine, Do NYC, No Depression, The Patch, and countless others including podcasts. Lundberg explores his own primal instinct through the making of subconscious markings, using a diverse array of mediums including acrylic, India ink, and charcoal, he hopes to express the visceral and nebulous inner workings of the self. He is also an advocate for a better planet and traveler, and in June had the honor of being a volunteer crew member and onboard reporter on the famed "American Promise," a 61' oceanographic research vessel for The Rozalia Project. Sailing out of Bar Harbor, ME he documented a 7 night excursion in the Gulf of Maine, while participating in a marine debris cleanup from Bois Bubert Island in collaboration with Maine Island Trail Association. Currently he is hashing out a few documentary ideas based off his experiences in Maine and his travels in Central America.
