International Drone Day is an annual celebration of drone, community and experimental sounds that takes place across the globe. The day commemorates all things musical and sonic drone and was started in Montreal by Marie LeBlanc Flanagan in 2016.Drone Day has grown into an international celebration of sonic drone, deep listening, and community!

Each year in the Hudson Valley, Drone Day is celebrated by numerous musicians and sound artists at the home of Katie Down and Matt Darriau in the SoundWell Barn and its environs in Marlboro, New York, welcoming over 150 musicians and sound artists from across North America.

The 2026 edition of Drone Day occurred on May 30. Drone Day's coordinating team, Craig Chin, Katie Down, and Tamalyn Miller made recordings of the day's performances and we're broadcasting them here on WGXC.
