Shamik is a sound artist, beat boxer and producer based in Chicago.

Shamik’s South Asian electronic productions and Channeling India beat series have been featured on Rolling Stone India and BBC Asian Network among others. He is the founder of Sensing Waves, a record label which focuses on deep, ambient, and leftfield music. 2025 marked the launch of his monthly radio show Time and Space on New Zealand station, Planet Sauce Radio.
Every segment in this show is made of field recordings. Some tracks started as a field recording, and then Shamik ran sounds through gear and recorded live takes and loops. This is an hour of unreleased music, played here for the first time.
