Hosted by various prospective WGXC volunteer programmers.
The track presented here moves into the sub-auditory, a descent into infrasound, ritual, and divination on handmade electronics. In this episode, "Deja Vudu" unfolds through close listening and sustained exchange with artists working at the intersection of experimental electronics, ritual practice, and sonic liberation. The program treats radio as a porous membrane between the built and the improvised, folding together handmade circuitry, sub-auditory transmission, and speculative sound practice to unsettle the boundary between instrument, body, and signal. This episode is dedicated to the knowledge-making of divination through experimental handmade electronics, envisioning fugitive frequencies as a method. The body as the ultimate radio. This episode is shaped by deep appreciation for Evilo and Serenity Synth, whose presence, time, and thinking animate the work, alongside transmission artists, sound artists, recordings, and experiments with waves and sonic profusions. Their practice of building liberation devices and summoning sound through ritual and divination enacts what this archive has always understood radio to be: not a medium, but a living system where alien epistemologies infiltrate the capillary control of what can be heard, transmitted, and known.
"Auditions" features prospective WGXC volunteer programmers trying out their proposed radio programs on air for listener feedback.
