Pioneer publisher backs Democrat
Apr 17, 2018 11:22 am
Greenville Pioneer publisher Andrea Macko makes a rare endorsement in the April 24 special election for the 102nd Assembly District seat to replace Republican Pete Lopez. "As a Republican, I am embarrassed, saddened and angry by the way my own party has handled this campaign," Macko writes. "You never look good trying to make someone else look bad and misleading attempts to damage another candidate will not win you my vote." She endorses Democrat Aidan O‟Connor, from Durham, over Republican Chris Tague, and Best Choice Party candidate Wesley Laraway, both from Schoharie County. The latest issue of The Greenville Pioneer has complete profiles of all three candidates in the April 24 special election.
