Amedore's term limit bill voted down

State Senator George Amedore (R-Rotterdam) introduced a bill (S.3808) Feb. 17 that would impose term limits for members of the New York State Senate and Assembly, which was voted down Mon., March 9, according to Bill Mahoney in Capitol New York. “Eight years is enough for the president of the United States of either party, but not here,” said Republican Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin, who represents parts of Columbia and Rensselear counties. Amedore, who represents Greene and Schoharie counties, and parts of Albany and Ulster counties, proposed no more than six two-year terms in either the Assembly or Senate beginning in January 2017.
