Low corn prices have farmers switching to grains

Cornell Cooperative Extension is holding field meetings on hay and small grain management throughout the area, including a May 26 workshop on pest management and agronomy of rye, wheat, barley and malting barley, oats at Kukon Brothers LLC, 2329 US Route 9, in Livingston. Lower corn prices mean many farmers are switching to hay, which is why the meetings are focusing on small grains and hay. The meetings are meant for both new and veteran farmers and details are at https://pub.cce.cornell.edu/event_registration/main/events.cfm
