Catskill teachers and district okay two-year pact

Jim Planck reports in The Daily Mail the Catskill Teachers Association and the Catskill Board of Education have agreed on a new contract. The two-year agreement will run through June 2014. District teachers had been working without a contract since June. The compact included a one percent salary increase and changes to the benefits package. CTA President James Maccaline said teachers agreed to the elimination of some of the more costly health plans. Maccaline said the CTA believes the agreement is fair.
