The Daily Freeman is reporting Route 23A between Haines Falls and Palenville will be reduced to a single lane while highway crews make repairs to a slope, beginning this week. The work is part of a $3.4 million contract to repair at least 10 slope areas on the Mountain Cloves Scenic Byway section of Route 23A in Greene County. The work will continue through the fall foliage season. In October, crews plan to close the road through the entire project area from Haines Falls down to the Kaaterskill Creek Bridge in Palenville while vehicles deliver concrete stabilizer pods.
