Another fierce storm moved through the Hudson Valley July 13, closing roadways and railways, with a tornado warning in the Catskill area into Columbia County. Amtrak trains heading north stopped in Rhinecliff, with trees down throughout the area. Route 9G was closed with detours in Germantown and Tivoli. The Hi-Way Drive In movie theatre in Coxsackie was hit with the severe storm, with the kitchen flooded and closed for the evening. Power remained out for some hours after the storms passed, with 3,500 people in Columbia County without power at one point. In all, there were three tornado warnings issued in the area during the storms.
